Predestination

Predestination

They came and stayed long after the conversion.
They pulled their strings, and they saved the souls of the wretched nonbelievers.
It was what they did best - employing their talents to save the world,
Over, and Over, and Over again.

Taking steps to cover their tracks was never much of a task for them,
for there never were tracks left which hadn't existed all along.
Silently and invisibly they made the adjustments.

For those unknowing, whose lives were twined within the loops weaved,
they were subject to an infinite number of rewinds until everything was
as it should be.

And for those who sensed, or believed they knew the secret,
they were never to be free, and could never be, for there were no means provided for escaping the predestination.
