Failed Absorption Into The Warm Safe Fuzzy

A scientific approach to understaning the physical world may not provide me with that warm, fuzzy, and safe feeling that religious dogma is intended to provide, but I'll take hard cold facts over fiction anytime - no matter what the cost.

Any sense of alienation from those who subscribe to "intelligent design", and from those institutions (religions, denominations, sects, and cults) which promote varients of such an approach is what I consider the price which I must pay for continued self growth in an honest, and rational way.

"Imagine the consequences if any significant component of the U.S. government actually believed that the world was about to end and that its ending would be glorious. The fact that nearly half of the American population apparently believes this, purely on the basis of religious dogma, should be considered a moral and intellectual emergency."

Every Sperm Is Sacred!

Monty Python's Every Sperm Is Sacred

Let's Sing Along Everyone!

DAD:
There are Jews in the world.
There are Buddhists.
There are Hindus and Mormons, and then
There are those that follow Mohammed, but
I've never been one of them.

I'm a Roman Catholic,
And have been since before I was born,
And the one thing they say about Catholics is:
They'll take you as soon as you're warm.

You don't have to be a six-footer.
You don't have to have a great brain.
You don't have to have any clothes on. You're
A Catholic the moment Dad came,

Because

Every sperm is sacred.
Every sperm is great.
If a sperm is wasted,
God gets quite irate.

CHILDREN:
Every sperm is sacred.
Every sperm is great.
If a sperm is wasted,
God gets quite irate.

GIRL:
Let the heathen spill theirs
On the dusty ground.
God shall make them pay for
Each sperm that can't be found.

CHILDREN:
Every sperm is wanted.
Every sperm is good.
Every sperm is needed
In your neighbourhood.

MUM:
Hindu, Taoist, Mormon,
Spill theirs just anywhere,
But God loves those who treat their
Semen with more care.

MEN:
Every sperm is sacred.
Every sperm is great.
WOMEN:
If a sperm is wasted,...
CHILDREN:
...God get quite irate.

PRIEST:
Every sperm is sacred.
BRIDE and GROOM:
Every sperm is good.
NANNIES:
Every sperm is needed...
CARDINALS:
...In your neighbourhood!

CHILDREN:
Every sperm is useful.
Every sperm is fine.
FUNERAL CORTEGE:
God needs everybody's.
MOURNER #1:
Mine!
MOURNER #2:
And mine!
CORPSE:
And mine!

NUN:
Let the Pagan spill theirs
O'er mountain, hill, and plain.
HOLY STATUES:
God shall strike them down for
Each sperm that's spilt in vain.

EVERYONE:
Every sperm is sacred.
Every sperm is good.
Every sperm is needed
In your neighbourhood.

Every sperm is sacred.
Every sperm is great.
If a sperm is wasted,
God gets quite iraaaaaate!

Pointal Fly

Image: Highly Pixelated Photo Of Butterfly

Just messing around with the photo editor. I like the original photo of this butterfly which I took earlier this week, but I felt like experimenting. I always liked pointalism, and seek to reproduce the effect digitally.

Video Killed The Text Blog-Stars

I've been watching little movies that people make of themselves on YouTube.

YouTube is becoming the Citizen Band Radio of the first decade of the Twenty First Century.

I've watched:

An Australian talk about the loss of Steve Irwin

A person in Enland playing a guitar - sounded good too.

A bunch of dumb videos of people singing that "I'm a Barbie Girl" song.

Lots of stupid videos of kids, and adults using Mentos to turn Diet Coke Bottles into Fountains.

High School Kids from various events dancing to the Napolean Dynamite skit - just like in the Vote for Pedro scene.

I also watched an interview with L. Ron Hubbard.

Watched an interesting documentary on Cosmology, and quasars.

Watched a PBS interview (Charlie Rose) with the late Carl Sagan.

Watched a bunch of UFO videos - some obvious fakes, and weather balloons.

Watched some high quality music videos, and videos from concerts.

Watched many poor quality music videos, and videos made by fans from concerts.

Watched some stupid Japanese Macdonald's commercials - "I'm Luvin It".

Still I can see what's beginning to happen here.

The whole world is being uploaded in video.

And Microsoft is releasing VISTA to assist us in this next step toward multimedia.

It's like going from the telegraph to the telephone, and a lot of people won't like revealing themselves on camera, but the time is come - and we bloggers had better get ready.

Why Former President Clinton Cites Richard Clarke

Was President Clinton asleep at the wheel? Can we blame 9/11 on him?

Conservatives are desparate to rewrite history as Midterm elections approach. Let's not let them get away with any more lies. These videos will take some time to get through, but they are well worth
the time.
